Honeywell has been a large supporter of the controls system of this team, donating a variety of sensors and input modules for connecting these sensors to the controls network. The sensors donated will help to monitor and control the Heating, Cooling, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system. Among the sensors donated were ones that will determine temperature and humidity, outside, inside, and in the ducts, as well as the temperature in parts of the solar hot water system. Honeywell has also provided large amounts of technical support in determining which input modules to use to connect these generic sensors to our complex controls network.

The interior of the 2007 house features the Concore 1000 panels, which we chose for ease of access to our plumbing, ductwork, and electrical wiring. Tate has been very helpful in choosing an access floor system and providing free training on installation. Their product is in line with our intention of a modular, easy-maintenance solar home, and we believe that it will provide us with a competitive advantage during the competition in case we need to access any of our in-house mechanical components.

As in 2005, Murus discounted their Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), which comprise the solar house's floor, walls and roof. Murus is the only supplier of polyurethane-foam SIPs that meets the stringent building codes of the Solar Decathlon, and the added efficiency of the polyurethane is certainly worth the search. Furthermore, Murus' SIPs have proprietary interlocking mechanisms for a better seal and ease of construction, a smart fit with our flexible, modular house.

They will surely maintain the temperature of our hot water through an efficient heat exchanger within the tanks, and provide added comfort to our home during the winter.

Viega donated their Manabloc plumbing manifold, which allows us to control all water flow inside the house from a central source, as well as Pex rubber piping for most of our interior water runs. By using flexible piping, students that had never plumbed before were able to connect most of the fixtures in the house to the main hot/cold supply system, and the Manabloc lets us shut any single line on or off from a central location.
