Most members of the Solar Decathlon team participate in constructing the house. The construction subteam manages the building process and educates all team members on proper construction techniques.

- Christina Chu, Civil Engineering ‘07, Master’s in Engineering 2008, builds with Cornell's Habitat for Humanity Chapter.
- Kenneth Chu, Electrical and Computer Engineering ’11.
- Benn Colker, Architecture '10, is interested in metal sculpture and unusual contraptions.
- Branden Collins, Master’s of Architecture ‘09, taught science to emotionally disturbed kids before enrolling at Cornell.
- Craig Duncan, Architecture ‘09, likes to play squash and enjoys it as a soup too.
- Travis Fitch, Architecture '10, grew up off the grid in the desert.
- Vanish Grover, Engineering ‘10, is a particularly average athlete (at best), but lives for intramural sports.
- Dave Hecht, Biological & Environmental Engineering ‘10, is an avid boogieboarder, ultimate frisbee player, and nicknamer of fast-food franchises.
- Nathaniel Jones, Master’s of Architecture ‘08, designs sets for student theatre productions.
- Hera Li, Electrical and Computer Engineering, ‘11, is from Singapore.
- Timothy Liddell, Architecture ‘10, has Amish neighbors.
- Sam Reilly, Master’s of Architecture ’09, is in love with Wegman’s and would marry it if he could.
- Conor Ryan, Engineering ‘11, plays hockey, hopefully for the engineering school this fall.
- Marty Schibler, Architecture ‘08, is a huge fan of shiny white shoes.
- Kris Sellman-Johnson, Master's in Architecture '09, is by far the oldest member of the crew, besides Dave, has a Swedish girlfriend, and plays the “jazz flute.”
- Davin Stamp, Architecture ‘10, is from Alabama, loves woodworking and surreal photography.
- Gideon Stone, Architecture ‘09, raises squid in his off time.
- Chris Werner, Master’s of Architecture ‘09, applied to Cornell’s Masters in Architecture program after seeing our 2005 Solar Decathlon house on the Mall.
