Soil Factory is composed of individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds and expertise, including everything from agricultural science to data science. We look at soil quality, fertilizers, and sustainable regenerative resource practices.
Solar Panel Reboot is an interdisciplinary team that works to research and devise solar-PV solutions for the Cornell and Ithaca community. This includes refurbishing PV panels to extend their lifetime, reducing efficiency losses from soiling, and building an indoor solar simulator.
The Sustainable City team is an interdisciplinary group of students focused on working with city officials to create a more connected society, industry, community, and economy in a less mechanized part of downtown Ithaca.
Our team is currently interdisciplinary with students from all different majors witin the colleges of Human Ecology, AAP, Engineering, and Arts and Sciences. Unlike other project teams, we also have a large cohort of graduate students and professional resources within the team which makes for an integrating collaborative environment.
We aim to improve the sustainability of the Smithsonian Institution's collection exhibits by creating data-driven recommendations for the Smithsonian to provide their guests with a clear and detailed picture of their ongoing environmental projects.
